Friday’s interfaith prayer rally in Makati where tens of thousands called for President Arroyo’s resignation inspired a new blogger to start writing to express her views and “to call the attention of those in power to submit to the will of the people.”
Blogger “secondlady,” who started her blog only on Saturday, wrote that while she was not able to participate, she was inspired by the turnout of people from various sectors, especially the students, who joined the Ayala rally despite the police’s attempts to block them.
“[L]ast night my heart melted with shame after seeing a female student on wheelchair joining the rally. I made a promise to myself, just a promise, to be involved in whatever means I could to help restore honor and justice in this country,” secondlady wrote.
Meanwhile, momblogger Noemi Dado, in her entry about the rally, wrote: “The InterFaith Rally is just a start. Imagine that! 80,000 people marched and shouted ‘We want the truth!’ and ‘Gloria resign!’ The rally was a success in terms of sending a message to President Arroyo.’”
Not all bloggers felt good about the rally, though. A certain Betty wrote that she is “so sick of people shouting out for freedom and ousting the current leaders, crying out to stop the greed and corruption..blah blah bleagh…”
Betty said the people never get satisfied. “We ousted two leaders and granted with the [f]reedom we always wanted. Once again, here we are calling out Gloria to resign,” she added.
