Bikoy Runs for UP Student Council

Blogger Victor Villanueva of Bikoy.net is running for councilor of the University of the Philippines-Diliman’s University Student Council.
Villanueva, a senior film student, filed his candidacy under the Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights - UP (Stand UP), the largest political alliance in the university.
It his third student council elections as a candidate, and is his first as a candidate in the university-wide student council. After serving as the film representative in the College of Mass Communication Student Council, Villanueva ran but lost the chairmanship race last year.
“Let this elections be based on issues and programs, ideologies and principles. Let us all look forward to a new university student council that will continue the struggle of defending the rights, not just of UP students, but of the Filipino people we all claim to serve,” he wrote on his blog.
