Bloggers Discuss Libel Law

February 16, 2008
By E. Eder

More than a dozen Manila-based bloggers met Saturday morning at a coffee shop in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig to discuss libel laws and blogging.

“The libel must be given publicity, circulated or publicized. Postings in a forum, message board or blog can certainly be considered as publication,” lawyer-blogger Butch Dado said in a short lecture on libel and related laws.

He also answered questions by other bloggers who attended the first installment of the Blog and Soul Movement’s Kape sa Isla Series: Kape Pan de Sal at Etc sa Isla.

Some of the participants also brought old and new books to be donated to the BookBigayan project of Rock Ed Philippines.
