RockEd Philippines convenor and blogger Gang Badoy on Thursday morning joined concerned citizens who escorted ZTE scandal witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada to the Senate.

“I followed crucial witness Jun Lozada from his press conference at La Salle Greenhills until he was safely tucked into the Senate building premises,” Badoy wrote on her Multiply blog.

In an early morning press conference, Lozada said ex-Comelec chair Ben Abalos wanted to protect his $130-million commission in the ZTE deal. Lozada also implicated the president’s husband, Mike Arroyo, saying he heard Abalos confer with the first gentleman on the phone.

Arroyo and Abalos have denied involvement in the allegedly anomalous contract, which the president canceled last year.

After the presscon, Lozada “left for the Senate surrounded by nuns of different religious orders,” Badoy wrote. She also posted photos of Lozada and the senators who received him.
